The narratives contained in this collection provide information to frontline workers and the public on Omushkegwuk womenÛªs traditional practices that enabled the Cree people to be strong in the past. Careful reading of these accounts may supply insights into developing programs and strategies that deal with ways to heal the James Bay coastal communities in the present and keep the Cree people healthy in the future.
