The Albany River (English & Cree) – DVD

Shortly after the ice broke up on the Albany River, two large rafts were launched from the Kabinakagami River, near the Constance Lake Reserve. The ultimate destination was Fort Albany, on the James Bay coast. The trip took two weeks and covered two hundred and fifty miles. During the trip down river, various elders discussed the history of now non-existent settlements along the Albany River. Pre-european as well as Post-european contact is also mentioned in some detail. Throughout the program, daily activities on the raft can be experienced by the viewer. This program is recommended for an older audience.
